Most of us dream about the future. What will we be doing? Where will God have us? Yet, while we have our plans, Ephesians 3:20 says, “He is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think.” In 1961, when a small body of believers met as First Baptist Church of Saugus in the home of Amos Clemmons, they may have not had any idea all that had God planned for their church. They probably couldn’t even imagine that in 1977, the very seedling they named Canyon Country Christian School would flourish into Santa Clarita Christian School…now celebrating 30 years of God’s faithfulness.
On Friday, March 9, SCCS celebrates by saying, “To God Be the Glory,” for He has done great things at our school. With much anticipation, we look forward to seeing what God will abundantly do with the future of our current students to further the cause of Christ. As we continue our five pillars of education (Academic Excellence, Spiritual Development, Creative Expression, Athletic Distinction, and Servant Leadership), our aim is to provide future leaders. That is why our 30th Anniversary Celebration is a fundraiser to support the Faith Hope Campaign with Tuition Assistance Fund. Our online auction will begin on Friday, February 17 at www.biddingforgood.com/sccsauction, where SCCS supporters nationwide can bid on items to help support the SCCS. While nearly all auction items will be online, certain items will only be available at the banquet’s silent and live auction. Because the glory of God is the focus of his ministry as well, Alex Kendrick will be our guest speaker. As Associate Pastor at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, GA, Kendrick has sought to honor the Lord with great Christian films such as Facing the Giants, Fireproof, and Courageous. We are truly blessed to hear how the Lord has used him and his films through a secular venue.
