On Saturday, March 3, members of Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley (SISCV) gathered at Help the Children to deliver grocery bags filled with much needed canned food, non-perishable food items, toiletries, diapers and clothes donated by the members, their friends, co-workers and neighbors as part of Soroptimist International’s “Saturday of Service”.  SISCV chose Help the Children as the beneficiary of their annual “Saturday of Service” as they provide an invaluable resource for individuals and families in the Santa Clarita Valley who are struggling to make ends meet because of unforeseen circumstances.
Since 1998, Help the Children has provided more than:
• $500,000,000 of life saving humanitarian supplies
• 165,000,000 pounds of food
• 100 containers of medical equipment, medicines and personal hygiene
• 3 million articles of clothing
• 3 million textbooks around the world
• 50 free medical and dental outreaches to third world countries
