I returned from a court hearing today and realized that what I know in my heart (as well as in my head) is that children who have been caught in the child welfare system need love, attention, and security from people who may or may not be their parents.  Having a safe home to return to after a tough day is something we all need.  Having a person who values us whether we accomplish great things or not, is something we all need.  Receiving kindness whether we earned or not, is what we all need.
Today, I witnessed a judge making a difficult decision.  I saw two attorneys take a position on a complex issue.  I provided information so that a reasonable conclusion could be reached.  All of us were fair-minded, caring, and hard-working.  All of us have seen suffering.
Children and families who are unfortunate enough to have to attend court hearings experience major losses that impact their functioning.  A child may be sent somewhere new to live.  A parent may be given restrictions.  A social worker may need to make a slew of arrangements.  We must cooperate and collaborate.
Inner Circle Foster Care and Adoption Services is an agency that works to provide secure environments for children.  These homes may be available for short-term periods or for lengthy stays.  We need families who are willing to open themselves up to the suffering of others.  These families are probably people like you.  Open your doors to children in need and discover that we all benefit from helping others.  You can be the person a child trusts when conditions in their lives are difficult.
If you possess the strength and dedication to help children during a critical time in their life or forever, please contact us at 818-988-6300.
