Workshop two: Last month I ran an article discussing the importance of being properly prepared for your divorce as well as options for a “Do It Yourself Divorce.”  The response was overwhelming– the first workshop was a great success.  Many of you had questions about the first steps to take when contemplating divorce.  Others have uncontested divorces pending but did not understand the difference between attorney assisted divorce and the “Do It Yourself” process.
This workshop will guide you through the initial process and help you start out on the right foot.  Topics discussed will be:
The Divorce Process
• How do I file for divorce?
• How long can/will a divorce take?
• Will I have to go to court?
• What should I be doing to prepare?
• Once my divorce is final, then what?
Financial Issues
• How do I find all the marital assets?
• How are assets divided?
• Am I entitled to alimony?
• Will I receive child support?
Mediation/Unbundled Services
• What is mediation and how does it work?
• Am I required to go to mediation?
• How can unbundled services work for me?
Bring all your questions with you!
There will be plenty of time to learn the answers to your questions.
