Hello Comedy Fans! The empire is growing. As most of you know, J.R.’s Comedy Club has been going strong in Valencia for the last 14 years. Four years ago we opened up The Ventura Harbor Comedy Club (www.VenturaHarborComedyClub.com). We recently stated a monthly show at The Junkyard Cafe in Simi Valley, and on April 20 we opened J.R.’s Comedy Club in Santa Monica (www.SantaMonicaComedy.com) inside the iconic restaurant Earth Wind and Flour at 2222 Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica.
J.R.’s in Valencia will always be dear to our hearts for all of the wonderful times we have had there.
We have an incredible comedy lineup for you in May.
On May 4 and 5 we bring you Dennis Blair, who for 20 years was George Carlin’s hand picked opening act. Dennis has been on HBO, Comedy Central, and even performed at The Academy Awards. Dennis starts out with hilarious topical standup comedy, and then picks up his guitar, for an amazing display of song parodies. He can parody any musical act the audience suggests. It is awesome! Also on the bill is a very funny comic named Dave Landau.
On May 11 and 12 we have the very funny Chris Strait, who has performed all over the world for our troops. He is a young Dad, and has lots of material about marriage, and fatherhood. Also on the bill is Stephanie Blum, who often appears with 3 Blonde Moms. Stephanie’s act is all about being a Mom, and is perfect for Mother’s Day weekend.
May 18 and 19, we welcome back the hard hitting Robert Duschaine, who has wowed Las Vegas crowds for years. He is edgy and irritated, but most of all very very funny. Also appearing is KLOS and SiriusXM radio favorite James P. Connelly, who is also a headliner by any standard. This is a great show.
Finally, on May 25 and 26, we close out the month with double headliner, Tom Clark who just had a guest starring role on The Closer, and Dan Gabriel who just taped his first Showtime Special. Another awesome show.
