Nationwide, forecasts for jobs have increased and also here in Santa Clarita, yet there are still many people that need employment.  Each day I drive down Lyons Avenue and pass the new library that is being built.  I wish that an art center was being built, and if we can, build an art center that would create jobs for many people.  How can this city of Santa Clarita ever have an art center?  Maybe new city council members TimBen Boydston and Bob Kellar can help make this happen.  In the meantime when Disney completes the plans to have new Disney Studios here in SCV there will be many people hired… and this is supposed to happen sometime soon.
Talking about the importance of having an art center here in SCV is important because we need more opportunities for the people who live here to be able to view “art exhibits” everyday and not just now and then.  The environment in which we live reflects the organization of the society of where we live which is political, economic and social.  The visual aspects of your environment may have a sense of beauty and there are many areas in Santa Clarita that are very, very beautiful.  The development of this city was done with efforts of many people to create areas of beauty.  What we need now is to provide even more places for the community to enjoy various kinds of beauty created by people who are artists and this would be an art center.  Can we do this?
