Here we go chili fans, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will once again hold its annual Fun in the Sun Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, October 6 at the Jack Bones Equestrian Center, located at 26983 Tapia Canyon Road in Castaic.
There will be chili booths, games, vendors, food, a kid zone, live music and more! Chili cooks will compete for top honors and bragging rights for Hottest Chili, People’s Choice, Judge’s Choice and Grandmaster, not to mention booth prizes for best decorated, best spirited and best theme. There will also be a variety of department displays and an Emergency Response Team competition. There’s fun for the whole family, including an expanded Kids’ Zone with bounce and bungee houses, inflatable obstacle courses, dunk tank, petting zoo and free crafts painting and coloring tents.
Chili cards are only $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 7 to 14. The event will run from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., and will benefit the Santa Clarita Special Olympics.
