Many framers will use a premium clear glass that offers little to no UV protection. The Mat boards may not be acid and lignin free and as a result could damage your art. Keep in mind when framing with acrylic there are various types available as well. The Acrylic we use at FASTFRAME is a high quality museum grade. It is not the thin plastic found in many ready-made products. A conservation acrylic with UV protection is recommended for those pieces that you wish to keep protected.
