On Friday, August 31, City of Santa Clarita Mayor Frank Ferry along with William S. Hart School District Superintendent Robert Challinor, and other community leaders came to Valencia High School to promote and launch DFYIT (Drug Free Youth In Town).  Santa Clarita is the first city in California to partner with the peer based program.

Santa Clarita teens are affected by the issue of drugs and the issue can be deadly. In the last few years Santa Clarita has had several hundred drug related over-doses and many have been fatal. DFYIT is a peer based program focusing on education and prevention and will be a critical component of keeping Santa Clarita teens drug free for years to come.
For more information on DFYIT, visit www.dfyit.com or visit the City of Santa Clarita’s website at www.santa-clarita.com.
