Know for his stage name PSY, Park Jae-sang has taken over all forms of social media and the Internet with his catchy lyrics and famous horse dance in the music video for his hit single ‘Gangnam Style’.
Escalating to over 400,000,000 views on Youtube in a little less than four months and reaching the peak of the iTunes top 100 singles chart, PSY has quickly become a pop culture icon recognized around the world. On Friday, October 8, 2012 Sierra Vista Junior High School staff and faculty wanted to show the students a lighter side of their personalities, a side other than the disciplinarian roles they assume as teachers. In an attempt to raise awareness for breast cancer, teachers sporadically rushed out onto the quad and performed an unannounced flash mob, organized by English teacher Rob Isquierdo, during a morning break between classes. The students cheered and laughed as they watched their favorite teachers do something so uncharacteristic, creating an enjoyable atmosphere for everyone. Well done!
