On Monday, October 1, the City of Santa Clarita welcomed the John Lennon Educational Bus to Santa Clarita for the first time. The Bus, which tours the country, is designed to inspire youth who have a passion for music to learn about the entire digital workflow process by creating an original work in one day.
Six local Santa Clarita high school students were selected to work with the John Lennon Educational Bus team to create and produce original songs and video projects. The students had the opportunity to be a part of the exciting world of digital videography, learning techniques of the trade as they wrote the music and lyrics to a song, recorded it, mixed it, shot and produced a music video.
The John Lennon Educational Bus has been at the forefront of the new media explosion, having produced daily video projects with students since 2001. The Bus travels the country and is highly adaptable, designed to provide students, their schools and communities with performances, demonstrations, remote recordings, and studio sessions customized for their needs, levels of experience, and interest.
