As many of you already know, Ma Maison made a huge change this year and moved our business from the center of Valencia to downtown Newhall on Main Street. Many of you wonder why we would make such a drastic change? The answer is really quite simple; we see the vision that Main Street Newhall will eventually be a bustling quant center of town for the entire Santa Clarita Valley. With it being only 2.6 miles from our previous location and hopefully with our loyal 10-year customer base, we felt this was the right time to invest our business, SCV’s “Best Boutique”, into the vision for the future.
The city has been working on making this particular area of Newhall a business improvement district similar to downtown Ventura, Montrose, Burbank: all of which took many years of commitment from the communities to transform and the entrepreneurial spirit of merchants to make it happen. So many positive changes have occurred recently in Newhall that it looks like the years of building the foundations are now paying off.
Main Street starts at one end with the largest public library in California and the live theatres at the opposite end. Beautiful sidewalks, trees and gaslamps now line the street and many of the buildings have been refaced to emulate their early glory years. Keeping in line with the rich history of downtown Newhall there is the cowboy walk of fame lining the sidewalk and Newhall boasts one of the longest running Fourth of July parades in California. On a monthly basis there is a food truck, farmers market and live music festival called Senses on Main hosted on the third Thursday of the month that is a real treat for the whole family.
Now that we have found a new home in Santa Clarita, we invite everyone to come join us to support this emerging downtown area. There are many offerings in our vicinity to entice you! We are easy to find, right on Main Street across the street from the live theatres and El Trocadero. On one side we have an adorable clothing store, Fresh, and a great Western shop called Out West. On the other side of our new store we have Pulchella Winery for tastings and directly across the street there is a cute store called Luscious Soul offering clothes and décor.
