When Jesus’ mother, Mary, was pregnant with Him, she went to visit her cousin Elizabeth who was also pregnant with John the Baptist. The Bible says, in Luke 1:41, “And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb…” Last month I preached a sermon called “Make My Baby Jump!”
What was on the inside of Mary immediately connected with what was on the inside of Elizabeth. That connection made Elizabeth’s baby jump. We all need to surround ourselves with people who have something on the inside of them that makes what is on the inside of us jump. We need to surround ourselves with people who motivate, encourage, and inspire us to achieve and walk in everything that God has placed deep down on the inside of us.
You are pregnant with a dream, a vision, a future. You are pregnant with ideas. No more surrounding yourself with people who hinder what you are pregnant with. Elizabeth understood what Mary was dealing with because Elizabeth was also pregnant. You need to be around someone who is also pregnant with a dream, or a vision, or a future. No more wasting time with people who aren’t expecting anything themselves, for they will not be able to understand or connect with what you are experiencing as you are expecting. Because Elizabeth was also expecting, she could respect what Mary was expecting.
You need to be around someone who can respect what is on the inside of you. Elizabeth knew that her gift was connected to Mary’s gift. You need to be around someone who knows their gift is connected to yours. When Mary walked in the room, “the babe leaped.” From here on, be able to say, “the people I am around, I am around because they Make My Baby Jump!”
