For the 15th time, the Roast was a great success and raised funds for health care for SCV residents provided by Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers. March 23 was the big night at the Elks Lodge in Canyon Country.
With former city manager Ken Pulskamp as the Roastee, the Roasters felt they had a lot of good material to work with.

15th Annual Elks Charity 1MC Bob Kellar was a hit once again, and roasters Don Fleming, Glen Bargh of the City and Steve Arklin were hilarious.  Naturally  Ken Pulskamp held his own.  The program was accentuated by the always popular and delicious tri-tip and chicken dinner with the best beans in California provided by the Elks own BBQ Committee.   The auction was again a success.
As one would expect, for an event like this to be successful, raising over $22,000 for health care for our community, requires the support of a lot of people.  Thanks to the BBQ Committee headed up by Don Dewhurst and Frank Webster, my committee members Ed Bolden, Tom Christensen, Judy Delaney, Duane Harte, Cheryl Laymon, Spence Leafdale, Bob Kellar, Ted Olsen, Tom & Donna Schmidt, and Katie Starkey. Special thanks to Wendy Albright, Jay Larkins,  Donna DiMarco, the Canyon High Baseball Team, and the always fabulous Bar Belles!
