reine riversReine says she paints what she loves: horses riding into the wide-open spaces and her favorite ranch dog, Mariya.  Born in France, Reine came to America as a young girl and pursued her artistry in numerous environments and cultures.  The one that she continues to feel the strongest love for has been that of the American West.  From rodeos to ranch life, as a devoted horsewoman she has captured her experiences through her paintings and photographic media.  Reine now lives in Agua Dulce.

A Cowgirl Heaven 1“For many years I traveled all over the southwest. I started photographing rodeo cowboys and cowgirls both behind the scene and in action.  I soon found myself cantering towards another venue, the American ranch family, and the beauty of the open spaces in which they lived.  Which now leads me to my own back forty, California’s very own contemporary, American cowgirl, a very independent free-spirited lifestyle.”
Reine is an accomplished artist who has numerous exhibits in the United States and overseas.  Her work is collected by private collectors and major corporations throughout the United States and internationally.  Reine’s formal education is in fine arts with a Master of Fine Arts degree from Otis Art Institute, in Los Angeles, California.  She has lectured, taught and exhibited in Universities in California.
Starting in May, she is teaching creative watercolor and acrylic painting classes to adults, however, the class is open to teens, 16 years old and older.  The classes will be taught in her beautiful and spacious studio in Agua Dulce and open to all levels of experience.
In the Painting with Acrylics class, each student will be encouraged to explore their personal objective in painting.  Demonstrations and techniques will be done before each class.  Reine plans to have a study in Plein Air painting at the park if the weather permits.  The Creative Watercolor class will provide innovative techniques and new approaches, as well as traditional techniques that will be demonstrated in this class.  Also, demonstrations in abstract and representational styles will be performed.
Classes will begin on May 29.  For more information, call 661-269-1764 or email: reine@reineriver.com.
