Having owned and operated Clarice’s Cake & Candy Supplies for over 25 years, Nanci Olmos continues to share her skills with others, teaching cake decorating, cookie decorating and candy making to children and adults. With all the baking shows on television and the Internet, the popularity of baking continues to increase, and her business continues to grow. So, too, do her classes. In fact, the small classroom is no longer big enough to accommodate everyone. “My dream was to have a proper classroom, not a room to share as a work room with my employees,” states Nanci.
Together, with the help of her employees, their husbands, her daughters, many good friends and customers, Nanci has expanded her classroom that can now hold as many as 20 students!
The official unveiling of the expansion was held last month, on April 12, which included an open house with lots of goodies given out to those who attended and a celebration of, original owner, Clarice Secrest’s 93rd birthday. The day was topped off with a cupcake birthday cake for all to enjoy and a visit from Clarice herself. What a treat for community members!
Nanci, who has lived in the Santa Clarita Valley for 45 years, stated “When our country is in trouble, people go to homemade. It is hard times for all, so learning a craft that brings sweet pleasure to someone is a real joy!” Their motto…We Bake with Love.
Nanci loves sharing her craft with others and believes her shop is truly a blessing to the community, and that’s why she and her staff continue to give back. Clarice’s Cake & Candy Supplies have been the sponsor of the Gingerbread Village for the Boys & Girls Club Festival of Trees since it began. They are one of the original supporters of the Taste of the Town sponsored by Child & Family Center, dipping lots of strawberries along with delicious cupcakes and cookies.
Clarice’s is a retail shop for cake and candy supplies while holding classes for adults and children. They also make custom cakes for all occasions that truly taste as good as they look. At Clarice’s, they have parties for any occasion, including birthday, youth groups, moms night out, couples night out and more. In addition, every summer there are three weeks of sweet fun with their summer decorating program.
Clarice’s Cake & Candy Supplies is open Tuesday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It is closed on Sunday and Monday.
