There are many summer programs available for children to participate in over the summer break.  Did you know that foster children can participate in these programs too?  Attending summer camp or participating in a summer activity can be life changing for a child who is in foster care.

Koinonia Family Services encourages our resource families to enroll foster children into these programs.  Royal Family Kids Camp is a camp that hosts over 6,000 foster children across 37 states for one week each year in the summer.  Children between the ages of six and 12 who are or have been a foster child are invited to attend this exciting camp.  In Santa Clarita, many foster children also attend Camp Clarita, which is a four-week day camp that takes the children on field trips, to the pool, and organizes various games, crafts and other exciting activities.  These programs help foster kids feel a little at ease, especially if placement occurs over the summer break.  Attending summer camps and participating in summer activities are one way for foster children to take their minds off some of their struggles, and allows them to focus on being a kid.  Koinonia Family Services has been operating throughout Southern California for over 20 years, and is excited to announce its expansion into the Santa Clarita Valley.  Please partner with us, and together we can bring hope to a new generation.
