A community is only as strong as its people and Wendy’s of Santa Clarita is starting the summer off right by getting out of the restaurant, rolling up their sleeves and meeting the people that make our town a special place. You may have recently seen the Wendy’s team serving volunteers at The SCV Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament or SCV Relay for Life. And if you hit a high school football game this September, you’re sure to see Wendy’s at the games to support our local schools. They will round out the year as a key sponsor and participant in Light the Night at Bridgeport Park to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
“Getting out of the restaurant to serve our community alongside our customers is an important part of our business and our mission here at Wendy’s,” said Rob Montgomery, owner of Wendy’s of Santa Clarita. “We genuinely enjoy giving back to a community who has been so supportive of us over the years,” he added.
Local community events are just one way Wendy’s shows its support for the SCV. Other charitable promotions such as our Holiday Milk Money fundraiser for the SCV Food Pantry, raise money from the restaurants at special times during the year. Last April, Wendy’s launched its first Annual SCV-wide PTA FUNdraising Contest allowing participating schools to visit Wendy’s, mention their school and earn 20 percent back for their PTA program for six straight weeks!
This contest might have been the newest community-wide school fundraiser that Wendy’s has launched, but it isn’t the only school fundraising initiative. Currently, all Wm. S Hart School District schools participate in the Wendy’s Key Tag program where a $1 key tag can be purchased in exchange for up to a full year of free Frosties with any order. This $1 key tag purchase goes back to the designated school in the form of a donation. The Frosty Key Tag program is going on its third year in Santa Clarita with over $15,000 raised so far!
