The CTG is proud and pleased to announce that the 2013-2014 Season is beginning with the Santa Clarita Regional Theatre production of the international musical sensation, Les Miserables.  The performance rights to this hugely popular show have only recently become available and this is the first full production of the show in this area. Les Miserables is being presented at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons, with a 16-piece orchestra and a cast of 80.
The Old Town Newhall Playhouse kicks off the season with a rocking sixties musical, Why Do Fools Fall in Love? You’ll take a trip to the past, where beehives, boys, and breakups are the order of the day as you follow these friends on their journeys to love. Why Do Fools Fall in Love? runs from July 27 through August 25.

For a direct line to thrills and suspense, you won’t want to miss the classic Whodunit, Dial “M” for Murder by Frederick Knott. This exciting thriller will run from September 27 through October 26.  Running concurrently with Dial “M” for Murder, is The Miracle Worker, the inspiring, moving story of Helen Keller and her friend and teacher, Anne Sullivan. The Miracle Worker demonstrates the enormous power of love.  Both shows will be running from September 27 through October 27, with alternating performance dates.
To get into the holiday spirit, you won’t want to miss the Frank Capra classic, It’s A Wonderful Life.  George Bailey and his family will delight you with this charming, heartwarming play as George discovers that every life is valuable and the power of love and friendship can help overcome any obstacle. Make it a holiday season to remember; come and see It’s A Wonderful Life which runs from November 29 through December 22.
Then, start the New Year with the hilarious and touching comedy about friendships that last forever, The Dixie Swim Club.  This story takes you through the years with five women who reunite every year, to catch up on each other’s life.  Through thick and through thin, through all the ups and downs of life, these ladies learn the importance of friendship. January 31, 2014 through March 1.
Just in time for baseball season, the spring production at the CTG will be the devilishly clever, home-run musical hit about the year the Yankees lost the pennant, Damn Yankees. Whether you are a baseball fan or not, you will love Damn Yankees!  March 28 through April 26.
Finally, the last show of the season is the musical classic Singing’ In The Rain.”  This singin’ swingin’ musical classic will give you a glorious feeling and have you tapping your toes as you sing in the rain! This fun and funny musical will end the 2013-2014 Playhouse season, with performances from May 24 through June 28.
The Family Season, in addition to The Miracle Worker mentioned above, will present the ever-popular The Hobbit which runs from February 1 through March 1, demonstrates that from the smallest beginnings come the greatest legends. The spring will bring Clarissa’s Closet, a delightful musical about the power of imagination.
