Do we have to say goodbye to the summer season? Yes, we do, but we welcome the cooler weather with open arms. I certainly hope you enjoyed your summer vacation as well as all the celebrity sightings that have come your way.
Just a few months ago, I had the opportunity to interview recording artist and lead singer of Lights, Rudy Cardenas, for a feature in the June/July issue of élite Magazine. You may recognize Rudy as he graced the American Idol stage as a finalist during season six. He also performed at the Child & Family Center’s Taste of the Town, where he kindly took a photo with me. Rudy is charming and talented, and his first solo album is currently available on iTunes.
Valencia resident and owner of Vibe Performing Arts Studios, Andrea Vibe snapped a photo with actor Mark Harmon a few months back. Mark is well known for his role as Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the hit CBS television series NCIS. Mark also played the role of Dr. Robert Caldwell on the 1980’s Emmy award-winning series, St. Elsewhere. Mark has been nominated for several Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominations for his work. Some of his feature film credits include Chasing Liberty, Stealing Home, Natural Born Killers and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, to name a few.
He is the 6’9” former NBA player who participated in the Hoops for Hope fundraiser for the Special Olympics at the Santa Clarita Sports Complex. Tony Farmer played for the Denver Nuggets, Charlotte Hornets and Golden State Warriors between 1993 and 2000. Tony was seen shooting hoops with community members and was nice enough to take a photo with Santa Clarita resident, Christos Stefanos. “It was a special day for my son and his friend Tyler,” states mother, Linda. “He (Tony) is such a great guy.”
The stars are here, Santa Clarita. Get your cameras ready and be on the lookout. Do you have a celebrity sighting to tell and photo to share? If so, e-mail me at selgin@santaclaritamagazine.com. Happy sightings! Mamarazzi.
