Trying to discover what is intentionally concealed is never easy nor inexpensive.  Unless you are lucky enough to stumble upon a smoking gun piece of evidence, discovery is a pains-taking and time-consuming endeavor.  In order to properly conduct an analysis of the community estate for waste or concealment, it is recommended that a lifestyle analysis be completed whereby all money in and all money out is tracked and documented.

In this process, all income and all records for any avenue of spending records have to be gathered and reviewed.
In a hidden asset case, one would question any transaction with unidentified or unusual origins or destinations.  Look for large checks made out to cash or documenting payments to unknown entities.  Any large, all cash transactions must also be scrutinized.
Analyzing income records can also lead to the discovery of hidden or simply forgotten accounts as it is not uncommon for very few transactions to be registered.  Also, one may indirectly discover an income source when the analysis of expenditures exceeds explained and documented sources of income, loans or inheritances.
As you can see, this is a painstaking task in any case and resort to this should be reserved for those instances where suspicions are vetted through some testing that will lead to more questions rather than answers.
