It’s an honor to be selected to attend either of the week-long summer leadership sessions held at the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis or the United States Military Academy at West Point. But being selected to both is nearly unheard of.
But that is exactly what happened this summer for Trinity Classical Academy’s Spencer Klehn who attended both academies this summer and got a preview of what it will be like to be a cadet or midshipman.
“I remember talking about going to West Point with my dad as a little boy,” Klehn recalls. “I have always wanted to go to a top university and the Army and the Navy are two of the best colleges in the country. I don’t want to settle for mediocre so I have my sights set on going to the best. This summer was such an honor to attend both.”
Klehn has never settled for mediocre in his high school career either. He is an outstanding student at Trinity, a very rigorous college-prep school in Santa Clarita, where he carries a full honors-level workload. He is also an All-CIF athlete and volunteers his time in our community.
