A few months ago, on June 20 I was, no kidding, hit by a truck.  I was nearly killed and knocked into a near death coma for eight days.  My son and partner for life (wife) were horrified with despair as the hospital “prepared” me for an ending.  I was bloody, beaten, my skull was exposed and I had massive abrasions on my face.  It was grim; but I was unconsciously ignorant, in a level 3 Glasgow Coma (a thin grey line above no recovery).

There are many details and major miracles surrounding that, but this is not the place.
The most significant things I realized through this (thus far) is:
1. As human beings we are endowed with a super gift: Conscious thought and feeling!  This should not be wasted!  We take our lives for granted and our ability to think and feel especially!  Don’t do it.  I realized that while I was no superhero in life, I was living a life of consciousness and trying to make a contribution to the community and world I exist in!  I am proud of that and want to do it all my life! I want to co-exist with the good and bad life stuff.  I want to have a real relationship with it all.  I’ve always done my best as a coach/counselor to be more than “adequate” to those who gave me the privilege of assisting them.  I try to dig deep and try to make a difference and help them find their true character and truly live.
2. Medical and clinical care saved my life.  But… it is the thoughts, concern and will of those who can’t seem to help caring and worrying about me that has brought me to where I am (a long way from okay but… getting there against all odds).
3. I’ve done my best to never be condescending or generic when listening to people’s suffering through the years.  I now see there are many things others can never “understand”.  My heart goes out to those who suffer from any condition, mental, emotional, physical.
I want to thank this community and loving people for the support and concern; I want to let you know I will persevere and I am here to help with whatever you may be enduring too.  I am seeing clients and “open for business”… more than “business”!
