Community members gathered as thousands of rubber duckies hit the water to race to the finish line at Samuel Dixon Family Health Center’s 11th Annual Rubber Ducky Festival!
The event took place on Saturday, October 5 at the beautiful Bridgeport Park in Valencia. “We are delighted to report that with great community support we were able to raise over $80,000 for patient care,” states Cheryl Laymon, Executive Director. “We thank our sponsors-new ones and continuing, our fabulous media partners and our most generous ducky adopters! Even the wind slightly settled down to help us produce a really great event with a lot of happy kids cheering their duckies on in the Regatta!” Cheryl continues, “According to Papa Duck Ed Bolden, he said it was the best ever. MC Bob Kellar was terrific and kept the program going.” Congratulations to Al Ferdman, Canyon Country Advisory Committee chairman and long time supporter of Samuel Dixon Family Health Center for taking home the Grand Prize. Second place went to Elliott O’Neil from Boston Scientific and third place to Dr. JC Burkhartsmeyer of the Santa Clarita Animal Hospital.
