On November 3, Assistance League Santa Clarita welcomed over 300 people to its 6th annual Sunset in the Vineyard fundraiser at Compa Vineyard in Newhall.
This year Assistance League showcased their philanthropic projects through vignettes that lined the entryway, so guests had an opportunity to see firsthand how the proceeds from the event are used to benefit those in need in the Santa Clarita Valley. Guests were able to sample wine and beer, and handmade cheese from local artisans. In addition, students from the Culinary Arts Program at the College of the Canyon were on hand serving up wood-fired pizzas, grilled sausages, cranberry meatballs, and beautifully adorned cheese platters. The band Wheelhouse provided entertainment, and over 20 silent auctions lots provided much fun as guests tried to outbid one another for a private catered dinner, to an amazing high-end wine lot, to a private tour of the Reagan Library; and the lucky winner of the opportunity drawing went home with a bottle of wine and collection of beer donated by each of the artisans pouring at the event. Co-chairs Amanda Hezel and Marca Johnson thank all in the community who participated. Proceeds from the event benefit local families in the Santa Clarita Valley.
