I have had the wonderful pleasure of living and serving in the Santa Clarita Valley now for a little over five years, and I am so thankful for all of the outstanding churches and pastors with whom together I have the pleasure of serving our community.
At BethlehemSCV we are seeking ways that we can be of service to this community and we would like to welcome you to consider two new things that are happening here. The first is a Service of Healing and Prayer. This service takes place on the first Thursday of the month in our Worship Center’s Prayer Garden.
This service offers a time for intercessory prayer and for those who seek healing to come and be anointed with oil and have the hands of the Elders and Pastor of the congregation laid upon them and a prayer for healing offered to our Lord who heals. There is no offering or sermon for this short service and anyone from our community is welcome to attend this traditional, yet informal order of healing and prayer.
The newest service that we want to offer to our community is an 11 a.m. worship service on Sunday mornings entitled “Heart’s Praise.” This service begins on January 12. The service will be an informal worship with coffee served all during the worship, a sermon that is more of a discussion and devotional presentation, the opportunity to shape the service by spending time in prayer, confession, and/or meditation, that all concludes with the celebration of the Lord’s Supper. We have professional musicians from the Santa Clarita Valley who will provide songs that share a message of hope and encouragement to a world needing that uplifting reason for joy.
