Well, Santa Clarita, 2014 made its debut and so did the stars! It was indeed a star studded 2013 and I am looking forward to many more sightings this year. Thank you for all your emails…keep em’ coming!
Just a few weeks ago, I had the awesome opportunity to travel with a group of writers from all over the United States. We packed our bags and headed to good ol’ San Antonio, Texas. While there, I had the chance to explore San Antonio as well as indulge in some of their fine cuisine, and even meet a chef or two.
You may not recognize him, but he has worked in some of New Orleans’ most legendary kitchens. Meet Chef Steven McHugh. Steven was kind enough to take a photo with me at his new restaurant, Cured, where he gave a tour of the facility and a brief overview of the restaurant. Steven took on the role of executive chef of Luke San Antonio in 2010. That same year he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma and is now in remission. With his new lease on life, Steven decided to pursue his lifelong dream and open up a restaurant of his own…Cured. You will most certainly recognize our next celebrity as he danced his way into our hearts on the television dance-competition series, Dancing With the Stars. He’s professional dancer, choreographer and five-time Dancing With the Stars champion, Derek Hough. Derek hails from Salt Lake City, Utah and recently won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography. Santa Clarita resident Liza Donihue had the opportunity to meet and talk with Derek, and also snap a photo with the handsome star!
It’s a new year, Santa Clarita, so get those cameras ready. You never know which star you’re going to run into.
