Wendy’s key tags have become a focus of much conversation around Santa Clarita, especially in our local schools. Students, parents and school supporters may purchase a key tag at a participating school or any local Wendy’s restaurant for $1. Simply by showing their key tags during every order, purchasers are entitled to one free Jr. Frosty during each visit to Wendy’s all year long, and the school of their choice will receive 100 percent of the money raised.
So far, 34 local schools have enjoyed the contest as a simple fundraiser. And with over $20,000 raised so far through the Wendy’s of Santa Clarita key tag program, excitement is growing in preparation for the fourth year. But there will be a couple of changes to the program this year to give schools an even bigger opportunity to raise funds. Starting on June 1, all participating schools will receive an automatic $100 from Wendy’s of Santa Clarita. Furthermore, when a school reaches 1,001 redemptions, they will receive an additional 10¢ back from every redemption for the rest of the year. As in the past, whichever school has the most keytag redemptions, (either in total or as a percentage of enrollment) will also win $500 from Wendy’s. Now with three different ways to raise money for schools, it is no wonder that Frosty key tags are gearing up for their most popular year yet!
“We have listened to what the schools want and have evolved the program over the years to best meet their needs. With the addition of elementary schools last year, we increased participation by over 100 percent.
