Zonta’s Women in Service luncheon honoring women who volunteer and provide service to the community really do make Santa Clarita Valley (SCV) an “awesome’ place to live.  The Robinson Ranch Clubhouse was filled as Marlee Lauffer emceed the program on March 8.  Fourteen outstanding women were nominated by service organizations that not only improve the status of girls and women, but serve the community.  These women and organizations were recognized by Zonta as follows:

Linda Pederson received the Carmen Sarro Award for the outstanding Woman in Service this year.  Nominated by the Child & Family Center Foundation, Linda’s accomplishments, if read, would take up the entire length of the event.  Most recently, she has been President of the Women’s Auxiliary for three consecutive years; she produces the monthly newsletter so the members can see the activities and support given to Child & Family Center.  Several years ago, Linda was named Woman of the Year for her combined volunteer efforts.  She remains on that committee to ensure that the SCV she helped to build will continue to care for those in need
