On April 27, The Assistance League Operation School Bell® 5K Run/Walk and “Mutt Strut” made history in their 25th anniversary year with 761 runners (including over 500 local Junior High students), the largest number of runners ever!  The race benefits their signature philanthropic program known as Operation School Bell®, all proceeds of which provide clothes and shoes for students in need in The Santa Clarita Valley.

Thanks to the Assisteens, Assistance Leagues’ auxiliary youth group, for organizing the Kiddie 1K and helping wherever needed at the race and to the race coordinators, Mel Johnson, Chris Tanner and Joanie Smelser for making it a fun and successful day!
