L’amoré Dance and Performing Arts Studio takes pride in its state of the art Sprung and Marley Dance Floors. The sprung floor keeps dancer’s knees and ankles pain-free; their feet feel better, and there is an increase in their endurance. Sprung floors have closed-cell foam blocks that suspend the dance floor above an existing hard, unyielding surface, allowing you to practice longer, and better. The existence of these foam blocks could be compared to wearing running shoes, instead of moccasins, to run a marathon.
This floor gives a very comfortable landing on jumps. After dancing on this sprung floor, our dancers are now able to jump with ease and safety. This floor has enabled our dancers to take their dancing to the next level. This type of floor is needed, to protect dancers’ bodies, which are always in motion.
A Marley Floor put on top of the sprung floor is a tough and durable covering, made of a heavy duty, slip resistant vinyl. It is a perfect covering for ballet and pointe work, to prevent the dancer from slipping. These floors are used at all major competitions throughout the world. It is a favorite of most dancers. Some Marley floors are portable, and can be put down and sealed with a tape. For permanent Marley floors, the vinyl is glued and welded together for a seamless look.
A hardwood sprung floor is the typical dance floor that most people remember from when they took dance lessons. This type of floor is great for percussive type of dancing, such as tap, tumbling and hip hop.
Either of these floors is good for any style of dancing. It really depends on what you have been used to in the past, and what is your preference. We have both of these floors in our studio, so we are able to satisfy most dancers.
