The Canyon Theatre Guild is thrilled to present our 2014-2015 Season – and what a season it is! If you haven’t become season ticket holders in the past, this is the year to see more theatre for less. The season begins with a bang as our Santa Clarita Regional Theatre presents everyone’s favorite ogre in Shrek The Musical at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at COC, August 2 through 24.
Concurrently, our Playhouse Season opens with the incredibly popular original “jukebox musical,” Forever Plaid, July 26 –August 24 at our beautiful theatre in Old Town Newhall, located at 24242 Main Street. Next, 39 Steps, a fast-paced whodunit with the flavor of a Hitchcock masterpiece mixed with a juicy spy novel and a dash of Monty Python, running September 27 to October 25. Rolling into the holiday season, we’re thrilled to present the classic story Miracle on 34th Street, November 28 to December 21. We start the New Year off with a riotously funny southern-fried comedy, The Red Velvet Cake War, January 30 to February 28. Next up, sshhh! Our contract won’t let us announce it till October, but if you like Monty Python, you’re sure to love this musical, March 27 to April 25. West Side Story sweeps us to the finish line as the world’s greatest love story is taken to the streets of New York, May 23rd to June 27. Our family season promises to be a winner starting with Once Upon a Mattress, a musical retelling of the Princess and the Pea, complete with wonderful songs and side-splitting shenanigans. Next, CTG presents its first traditional British Panto, a fabulously funny fractured rendering of Cinderella–The Panto!, January 31 to February 28. The World premiere of a delightful, swashbuckling new adaptation of The Three Musketeers rounds out a season you won’t want to miss!
