While your kids are preparing to go back to school, Wendy’s is joining you in celebrating by giving even more support to school and youth sports programs throughout Santa Clarita Valley. This year, Wendy’s of Santa Clarita is continuing their support to local schools by raising more money and supporting more sports programs than any other local fast food chain.
Parents, students and community members are invited to purchase Wendy’s key tags for $1 at any local Wendy’s restaurant or pick one up at their school’s ASB office. Each key tag entitles the individual to one free Jr Frosty with every purchase at any local Wendy’s restaurant until August 31, 2015. With each transaction, their school will receive redemption points. These points are calculated at the end of the year. The schools with the highest number of redemption points and the highest number of redemption points by percentage of enrollment will each receive a $500 cash prize. So far, the Wendy’s Key Tag Program has raised over $25,000 for local schools!
But Wendy’s doesn’t stop at key tags. This year, you’ll find them supporting five local high school football teams and rewarding their most valuable players. As a proud sponsor of both the SCVTV Athlete of the Week and The Signal’s Player of the Week, Wendy’s is giving Santa Clarita athletes the recognition they deserve for both their achievements in academics and sports.
Since 1994, Wendy’s awards The High School Heisman to students whose academic, athletic, and involvement in their community is of exceptional caliber. Local candidates are strongly encouraged to submit applications for the award. Applications will be accepted beginning in late September.
