Have you considered joining ceramics classes but feel intimidated? There is a rhythm and a flow to the production of ceramic pieces. A cleverly planned studio makes this process easy, efficient and keeps people moving minimally. Yes, you too can make pottery! All you need to do is get in the groove.

One – Don’t worry!  Before you even step foot into the Ceramics Studio, much of the thought and the planning has been done for you.  The arrangement of the workshop has been carefully designed. Potter’s wheels and the needed tools and supplies are placed in close vicinity of each other. Hand building tables, slab roller, extruder, and ware boards are within reach. The glazing area is well organized. There is an easy flow to the process.
Two – Have confidence in yourself. You can’t fail in ceramics. You don’t even have to master every skill. Maybe you’ll like hand building with slabs of clay and will make gorgeous tube vases, lidded boxes or garden art. Or maybe you’ll throw fantastic cups. Glazing is simple; just dip!
Three – Relax and trust the instructors. The instructors always have projects for you and will offer demonstrations, hands-on practice time and recommendations. Ask lots of questions. Whether you are working on an assignment or on an independent project, instructors are happy to help! They are here for you!
