November marks a wonderful milestone for the Country Antique Fair Mall as we kick off the celebration of our 35th anniversary. On November 7, 8 and 9, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., there will be a storewide sale, with the majority of the 100 dealers participating. Discounts of up to 50 percent can be expected. There will be drawings for Gift Certificates, free popcorn and cookies and some of the friendliest service you will ever experience.
Originally opened by Bud Johnson and Don Rose in 1979, the Mall was soon sold to a contingency of four dealers who formed a partnership. In 1984, the partners formed a corporation and shortly thereafter expanded the mall, doubling the size to 12,000 sq. ft. and 100 dealers. The adventure began in earnest. The Mall has not changed much during its long tenure in the Santa Clarita Valley. Many owners, dealers and clients have passed through the doors over the years and while we have had to say goodbye to some we have had the great pleasure of saying hello to others. It has and will serve as a gathering place now and for years to come. To some it is a landmark and we have remained in our original location in the heart of our valley.
For those who have never been through the doors, you do not know what you are missing. You do not need to collect antiques to find a treasure, CAFM is not a store that is filled to the gills with gilt. There is something there for almost everyone and you will find dealers who specialize in toys or glassware, while others may have art and fine furniture. There is jewelry, books, sports memorabilia, militaria and a myriad of items to decorate the home. There are things that will remind you of your youth or even better, a loved one. The music fills the store with a fun loving ambiance, while smiles from the staff and dealers fills the store with warmth.
Antique Malls and Stores have closed their doors all across the country, yet the Country Antique Fair Mall has managed to persevere. The good fortune of the Mall can be attributed to years of good planning, wonderful dealers, an excellent staff and most important, the clientele.
