Town & Country Farm School is a staple of the community in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Tucked away in the beautiful and picturesque Placerita Canyon, Town & Country Farm School has created an environment where children have come to grow, learn and explore the world around them.
Beginning with their Infant Program (7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.), little ones aged six weeks to 18 months are cared for in a loving and age-appropriate stimulated environment. They provide sensitive care giving in a free exploration play setting. They are protected by the safety of their daily classroom as well as provided the opportunity to explore the many exciting sites on the 2.5-acre campus.
“The rural atmosphere of Town and Country Farm School was developed to interest, fascinate and expose children to hands-on experience with nature. We believe that before a child begins to read and perform other academic tasks, they must first gather and develop concepts from the world around them,” say owners Lad Lengyel, Dick and Diane Schlander. “On the property, children will encounter farm animals, fruit orchards, gardens and plenty of open space. Our early American setting and nature provides real, rather than contrived discoveries for children.”
The Toddler Program (6 a.m. to 7 p.m.) exposes children play and work through stories, singing, art and cooking as well as indoor and outdoor play. They also regularly visit the farm animals and the garden, learning about nature and caring for others.
“One of my favorite perks of Town & Country Farm School has to be the potty training,” says dad Chris, “I’m a first time dad and had no idea where to start, so the help I get from Miss Jeanine, Miss Nancy and the whole Town & Country team is absolutely vital to my success at home!”
At three years old, children are then ready for the Preschool Program (6 a.m. to 7 p.m.), which guide them through the self-exploration stages of understanding, mystery and growth. Taught in a fun and exciting indoor/outdoor environment, Children are also exposed to reading and math in preparation for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten.
The Pre-Kindergarten Program (Full day: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Half day: 9 a.m. to Noon) places a stronger emphasis on reading and math readiness as well as helps develop the focus needed for children to be successful students. The confidence they gain will help immensely in their future endeavors.
The Kindergarten Program (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) includes all the “fun stuff” like the animals and garden activities as well as a comprehensive, broad-based curriculum that will challenge and motivate young students into independent and successful young people.
