Since our introduction of Cedar Glen Jams to our community through The Magazine of Santa Clarita, readers responded and have become patrons, purchasing our freshly made jams. Word of mouth (or palates if you prefer) has also spread (no pun intended here!) our products and the variety of fresh homemade jams.
We offer jams, preserves and butters made from locally sourced seasonal fruits. Our fruit is from our own Farmers Market at College of the Canyons and Francisco’s on the 126 freeway in Fillmore. Folks are also finding out about Cedar Glen Jams from the free samples I give out while going about town: at stores, restaurants, nail and hair salons.
As the seasons change, so will my jams. Stone fruits, also known as summer fruits, those wonderful peaches, apricots and nectarines have all been harvested for the year. I’ve made an abundant supply of jams from these fruits, but when my supply is sold, they’re gone until the beginning of late spring. I insist on using locally grown and in season fruit only. You can taste the difference not only in the fruit, but also in the jams. We use only fruit, white cane sugar and lemon juice. Other additions depending on the flavor can include cinnamon and vanilla. Again, I use only the finest ingredients, traditional Mauviel copper jam kettles to ensure my jams are of the best possible quality.
During our fall and winter months, apples and pears are in season and at their peak! Try one of our wonderful butters, they come plain or spiced. They taste great on oatmeal, scones and grits. They can also be brushed on ham or other meat to impart a nice crust and flavor. Citrus is also coming in at it’s finest, and we will have lovely marmalades for your toast, bagels and scones. And just for the holidays, we have homemade Cranberry Orange preserves for your holiday table! Like our jams, these are handcrafted, made in small batches for your enjoyment, using traditional Mauviel copper jam kettles.
Cedar Glen Jams & Preserves will make great holiday gifts. Parents, and especially grandparents who may remember the art of preserving, will appreciate homemade jams and preserves. Teachers, co-workers and even hard to please friends will enjoy something made with love.
We have free local delivery and gift-wrapping is free! Visit us at www.cedarglenjams.com or call us at 661-714-0412.
