In honoring the indomitable spirit and courage of local cancer survivors, Santa Clarita Radiation Therapy Center- Vantage Oncology hosted its first Survivor Celebration party on Thursday, November 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event took place right outside the cancer center located at 25751 McBean Parkway, Suite 110 in Valencia. Santa Clarita Radiation Therapy Center is part of Vantage Oncology which includes more that 60 cancer treatment centers in 14 states providing quality, personalized care in a community setting.
All in attendance were delighted with the music, delicious food, light refreshments and the opportunities to share their stories with fellow survivors.
“As cancer specialists we continue to work diligently to find new radiation and drug therapies to improve survival rates. However, we must not forger the emotional impact cancer has on patients and their families. By hosting events such as these, we are providing a nurturing environment that enables survivors to share their experiences and hopefully lend support to those patients recently diagnosed,” said Nancy Ellerbrock, MD., FACR, FASTRP, radiation oncologist and medical director of Santa Clarita Radiation Therapy.
