According to Frontline Technologies, “Across the country, districts nationwide have noticed an issue this school year: a substitute teacher shortage.”  Sulphur Springs School District is no different.

Substitute teachers are needed to continue the learning in our TK – 6th grade programs when a teacher is absent.  We are actively seeking substitute teachers who hold teaching credentials.  Substitute teachers may, also, hold a 30-Day Substitute Permit.   To obtain this permit, a candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree and have passed the CBEST test.  More information can be found on substitute teacher requirements by contacting the Commission on Teaching Credentialing at www.ctc.ca.gov.  If you are credentialed or hold a 30-Day Substitute Permit and have an interest in teaching in the absence of a teacher in the Sulphur Springs School District, you may submit an application by visiting our district website at www.sssd.k12.ca.us or by using the QR Codes below.  The substitute teacher application is located on the Personnel Services page under Employment Opportunities/Certificated Employment Opportunities.
