Yes, indeed the community is now being asked to help guide and shape a new city arts master plan. The Cultural Planning director David Plettner-Saunders wants the plan to arise from the community and many people need to be asked in many ways as possible.
What do you want to see happen in the “Arts” for Santa Clarita? A plan will address many issues, art funding, arts facilities and an overall creative economy for the coming years.

Local residents, arts organizations, and the business community all need to be given a chance to weigh in and participate in the process of making the master plan for the arts in SCV. The public will be able to participate in the master plan process in the coming weeks.  The community residents can participate with their voices being heard about the cultural arts programs that are needed for our youth and adults in Santa Clarita.  An art center building needs to be part of the development master arts plan. A city owned Art Center could provide the opportunity for many non-profit art organizations to be part of the space in an art center.  The city should create a building to house all of the creative arts in SCV as the importance of the place for art in our lives, our city and our residents is one of the highest achievements a city can offer to its community members .Art is important in our lives everyday and the city of Santa Clarita does not have an art museum or any galleries that exist at the present time.  The city council members and the public at large must support the idea of an Art Center being created in Santa Clarita as part of the master plan for the arts.
