Join the folks at St. Clare Catholic Church in Canyon Country as they continue with the 37th year of the traditional Lenten fish fries that benefit the needy in the community. They’ve caught their limit so they have plenty of fish for you!
Beer battered Alaskan cod, French fries or rice pilaf, homemade coleslaw, fresh rolls, coffee, tea and milk, are all part of the traditional fish dinners that began on February 20 and will continue each Friday through March 28. Enjoy the best catch of the day!
Everyone has a story about the one that got away! You’ll run into friends and acquaintances from the SCV and beyond so you can share all of your stories and family news. St. Clare is truly the place to be on Friday nights during Lent. Over 7000 meals were served last year…holy mackerel! If you can’t stay for dinner, meals are available for take-out.
The best way to finish off your dinner is to visit the dessert table. A different group provides delectable treats each week including the Wives of the Knights of Columbus, Mission Circle, Women’s Ministry, Cub and Boy Scouts, Youth Ministry/Confirmation and the Hispanic Ministry. The Knights of Columbus staff the bar with beer, wine and soft drinks, so there is no reason to go thirsty.
Proceeds from the fish fries benefit the Bridge to Home, SCF Food Pantry, the San Fernando Valley Family Counseling Center, the SCV Pregnancy Center, the Archdiocese of the Military and individuals who need assistance.
Dinner is held from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. each Friday beginning February 20 through March 28. The cost is $9 for the two-piece dinner or $10 for the three-piece dinner and St. Clare is located at 19609 Calla Way in Canyon Country.
