Irresistible.  Mouth watering. Pleasing to the eye and satisfying to the taste buds.
It’s how you would describe the decadent desserts at Salt Creek Grille, and after spending some time with their pastry chef, it’s no surprise why.

Over the last four years, Salt Creek’s pastry chef, Kristina Waggoner has been wowing customers with her culinary creations.  A graduate of California State University of Northridge as well as Cordon Bleu in Hollywood, Kristina made her way to Salt Creek Grille in Valencia and began working in catering.  She was offered the position as pastry chef and from there she flourished, and customers are thankful.  “I worked with the movie industry styling food, prior to coming here,” states Kristina.  The pastry chef even wrote a cookbook and started her own catering business.  “When I was offered the position as pastry chef, I was really excited.  I can be creative and Greg (owner) let’s me make my own sauces and create seasonal desserts.  I love to bring in new things at different times of the year based off what is in season.”
Kristina recently competed on The Food Network’s Guy’s Grocery Game where her culinary expertise shined, as she made it to the final round.  Following, the show, she was called by the FYI Network and was asked to compete in Pressure Cooker competition show.  Competitors have limited time to prepare dishes with a small budget and a map and must create a world class meal for judges.  Despite the obstacles, Kristina was crowned the champ.  “ It was great exposure and a lot of fun.  It gave me a lot of confidence knowing that I was able to work under that pressure.”
With an award winning pastry chef at the helm, it’s no surprise why Salt Creek Grille’s dessert menu is so special. “Everything is home made on the premises and careful thought and creativity are put into each plate.  “I like to take ordinary desserts and spice it up,” states Kristina, “and give customers a new take on traditional plates.”  From their decadent Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake which is a perfect blend of lemon and blueberry cheesecake with a graham cracker and lemon zest crust, to their out of this world mouthwatering chocolate peanut butter silk pie (a personal favorite), you won’t be disappointed.
