Voted one of the top six theatres in Los Angeles by the L.A. Times, The Repertory East Playhouse (REP) has been entertaining audiences in the SCV since 2004, providing residents with professional theatre on a small, intimate scale. The REP runs on a January through December season with over 6,500 audience members passing through their doors each year to attend six Main Stage productions, concerts and special events.
Their vision is to operate a world-class facility, offering a wealth of professional productions for reasonable prices and to produce plays that excite the imagination and nourish the community’s passion for theatre.
The REP is also host to its recently developed Concert Series, a series of cabaret style concerts held throughout the year and The OutWest Concert Series. In addition, the REP often hosts community groups such as The Society Improv Troupe, the Santa Clarita Independent Film Festival, the Old Town Newhall Association and the Newhall Historical Society and provides a summer internship program in association with LA County Arts Commission. During the summers, the REP collaborates with the City of Santa Clarita, College of the Canyons and Canyon Theatre Guild and the Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival, providing performances of classic plays free to the community.
