Andrew Song had a dream of owning a restaurant of his own, and after many years of experience working in the restaurant industry, his dream of ownership came true last year with Umaichi Ramen. He and his staff are proud to celebrate their one-year anniversary in business. “We may be a new restaurant in town, but it brings me joy to see people enjoying their very first bowl of ramen, and already so many have come back,” says Andrew.
“As a business owner, there is no better feeling in the world.” Andrew enjoys sharing and introducing his extensive knowledge and cooking skills with those who have followed him throughout the years.
Ramen is a classic Japanese dish that, if done right, can make for an everyday tasty meal. At Umaichi Ramen, they take pride in perfecting their ramen. Eight expertly crafted ramen dishes are available to choose from. The TanTan Spicy Miso Ramen and the Umaichi Tonkotsu Ramen are just a few of the favorites of loyal customers. Starting in May, they will introduce Tonkatsu Curry Rice, Cold Green Tea Zaru Soba, Spicy Tuna Bao Bun, Seared Tuna Carppacio with Yuzu dressing and Yuzu Iichiko Sake. And for their one-year anniversary special, enjoy Bacon Honey Toast with Maple Syrup!
Umaichi Ramen has stapled their restaurant as the place to go for excellent ramen dishes, yet their variety of unique appetizers and modern twists on classic Japanese entrees has made it more than just a ramen shop. A favorite appetizer of mine has to be the Mochi Cheese Gratin located on their “Something to Share” menu option. Freshly prepared classic mochi is layered with melted Brie cheese, seaweed strips, green onions, and spices to create a rich, mouth-watering dish unlike anything I’ve seen before.
The ambiance set in Umaichi is welcoming and friendly. Anyone can walk in, take a seat, and await a dining experience of Japanese ‘soul food’ made from the very best.
