At the 42nd Annual Henry Mayo “Drive Safe” Golf Classic held on May 9, participants golfed to raise money for Emergency and Trauma Services. The event consisted of golfing, contests, prizes, food, drinks, and both a silent and live auction. There was also a special event where participants were given the chance to win $50,000 in a helicopter golf ball drop.
The Emergency Department at the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and the trauma center has expanded immensely. The money raised will be used to quench the emergency healthcare needs of the ever-increasing Santa Clarita public.
This year’s tournament raised approximately $328,000 for the Hospital’s Emergency and Trauma Services, and since its inception, has raised nearly four million dollars.
