Welcome to Pulchella Winery Tasting Room.
With a passion for winemaking, Steve Lemley and Nate Hasper teamed up to create one of Santa Clarita’s most sought after wine. While the process of commercial winemaking began in 2006 with their first harvest in 2007, it wasn’t until 2010 when Pulchella Winery Tasting Room first opened along Main Street in the heart of Downtown Newhall. Just two years later, the production facility followed suit, moving from Paso Robles to the Santa Clarita Valley.
Expert winemakers Steve and Nate began making their own wine, and were quickly approached by other vineyards to produce their wine. In addition to the cases they produce for Pulchella, they are consulting winemakers for 20 other labels. “We produce about 1,000 to 1,500 cases for Pulchella a year, and 10,000 in total. Our label continues to do really well and we will continue to produce that amount.”
What makes the Pulchella wine unique? I’m convinced it’s their winemakers, coupled with a committed passion for what they do.
“We pride ourselves in keeping the quantities we produce smaller. The smaller we keep it, the more energy, focus and passion we can put into every single barrel.” Steve continues, “It’s not a process for us, it’s a passion, and we are very humbled and appreciative of the local support we receive from Santa Clarita residents.”
And passion it is.
“Nearly 80 to 90 percent of what we produce goes to our wine club members,” continues Steve. Couple that with guests from the Tasting Room, not a drop of wine is left over by year’s end. You can join the “Cult” and take advantage of exclusive membership benefits including complimentary tastings for all wine club members, two allocations a year, pick up parties (complimentary parties to pick up your wine so you don’t have to pay for shipping) and more. Open Thursday through Saturday from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. indulge in the tastes of hand crafted, ultra-premium wines including Grenache, Syrah, Rhone Blends, Cabernet, Zinfandel and more. In a warm and cozy environment, the Pulchella Winery Tasting Room not only boasts fine wine but a laid back atmosphere with plenty of room to enjoy a glass or bottle. Take your love for wine outdoors on their private patio, which is also available for larger groups or private events. Both the tasting room and patio are available for private events during the days that that are not regularly open to the public. Though food is not served at Pulchella Tasting Room, they welcome customers to bring in their own food or order takeout from one of the many restaurant establishments within walking distance.
