As the school year winds to a close, every parent faces the same dilemma: what to do with the kids during the summer months so they stay busy. There are a ton of activities available to families during the summer and it’s often hard to choose which one will not only keep your kids occupied, but will be enjoyable to them as well.
Studies have found that if a child stays active and stimulated during the months off from school, they are more likely to develop better cognitive and social skills which will carry over into the next academic year. These same studies have found that studying music tends to awaken parts of the brain, particularly in children, that help to develop these critical skills.
At West Coast Music Academy, Santa Clarita’s largest instructional facility, we will be open all summer long to provide enjoyable, challenging music lessons to kids and adults of all ages.
