Canyon Springs and Mint Canyon State Preschools provide a hands-on quality program for low-income families residing within the Sulphur Springs School District. Our low student to teacher ratio offers many opportunities for one-on-one interaction during the three-hour school day.
We utilize The Creative Curriculum for Preschools System. By focusing on different “studies” throughout the year, preschoolers are encouraged to use their natural curiosity to explore the environment around them. Hands-on student exploration continues at the heart of our curriculum, enhanced with new technology including a SmartBoard and student iPads in each classroom. Our preschool program helps prepare our young students for a successful transition to Transitional Kindergarten or Kindergarten which base their curriculum on the Common Core State Standards.
Our preschool program is primarily geared towards the child who will be four by September 1. State guidelines permit us to enroll three year olds when all of the qualifying four year olds have been enrolled. To begin the registration process for the 2015-2016 school year, please contact Canyon Springs (661-252-8045) or Mint Canyon (661-252-8026) to schedule an appointment. Documentation that will be required at the first appointment includes: current utility bill or rental agreement, birth certificate for each child under 18 in your home, current immunization record for the child you wish to enroll and for each employed parent – paycheck stubs for the most recent month.
