Are you ready for school to begin? Is your child ready for school to begin? It may still be summer with many family activities and vacation plans and memories, but school is just around the corner. Saugus Union School District schools open their doors for their first day of school on Wednesday, August 12. Where did summer go?
As you get ready for the new school year, consider how you might be more involved at home, at school and at the district level. Parents are the key to inspiring and supporting lifelong learners!

• Communicate with teachers about questions and concerns
• Link learning to current events

• Provide a quiet space for homework
• Limit television watching and video games
At School:
• Attend Back to School Night
• Visit and volunteer in your child’s classroom
• Talk to the principal about parent involvement opportunities at school
• Attend and support parent organization meetings and events
• Attend parent/teacher conferences
