Lakers fanatics hold your breath: Norm Nixon was spotted with Taylor Kellstorm at the Palms Restaurant for Evander Holyfield’s ESPY’s charity after-party event. Norm Nixon was born in Macon, Georgia and was selected in the first round of the NBA draft, where he signed a multi-year contract with the Los Angeles Lakers on September 2, 1977. He received All-Rookie First Team in 1978, which is a annual National Basketball Association honor. He played for the Los Angeles Lakers for six seasons. During his NBA career, he scored 12,065 points and had 6,386 assists; he played in 768 games. Even though he had impressive statistics, he was remembered most for faking a free throw at the end of the Lakers-San Antonio Spurs game on November 30, 1982, which caused a double lane violation. The referees erroneously ordered a jump ball, instead of requiring Nixon to re-shoot the free throw, according to lakersnation.com. The Lakers won the game in overtime; however, the call was later reviewed and revoked. The league ordered a replay of the final three seconds, and this time, the Spurs won the game.
Darrel Bailey, also known as Clipper Darrell, was also spotted at the same event with Norm Nixon. He is a fixture at Clipper home games and many away games. His total consecutive home game attendance is 386 games. He has been a season ticket holder since 2000. He dances, leads cheers, and taunts the opposing team at home games in his famous half-red, half-blue suit.
